Climbing areas

Rodellar, famous for its outstanding climbing area, is home to more than 400 routes distributed in 35 sectors with various orientations. With an average height of 30 meters, these routes offer exciting challenges for climbers of all levels. All sectors are easily accessible on foot from Rodellar, dispersing mainly along the Mascún River ravine. In addition to climbing, the sectors are close to beautiful pools to enjoy a refreshing swim, often located at the foot of the tracks.

In the Rodellar climbing area, the imposing limestone rock stands out for its majestic vaults and overhangs adorned with large jets. The most notable features include long, athletic and spectacular routes. Additionally, small caves and roofs abound, offering short, explosive climbing experiences, as well as vertical walls with technical routes reaching up to 40 meters and more. There is no shortage of excitement at boulder sites, especially the small caves.

The diversity of grades is another gem of Rodellar, with the majority of routes located in the seventh and eighth grade, even reaching the impressive 9a+. In this unique environment, you will also find some easier routes, from 6b and 6c, which provide exciting opportunities for climbers of all levels.

Rodellar and the Mascún Canyon are internationally renowned destinations for climbing, attracting enthusiasts from all over the world all year round, especially in spring and autumn. The Rodellar rock, with its characteristic gray limestone and formations of holes and vaults, offers athletic and spectacular routes, with overhangs that challenge climbers.

In the Mascún canyon, with its impressive environment of geological formations and crystal-clear waters, climbing becomes a physically demanding experience, with degrees of difficulty ranging between seventh and eighth grade.

Alquézar School

Alquézar School

The Vero River canyon in Alquézar offers a variety of walls with excellent limestone rock. In the vicinity of the town, you will find sport climbing routes that reach up to 40 meters in length, with considerable levels of difficulty.

In recent years, new high-quality sectors have been developed, such as San Pelegrín, where climbing is restricted from April to July due to nesting birds. In addition, in the imposing walls of the canyon, there are classic climbing routes, such as Tozal del Vero and Tozal de las Macetas.

The Alquézar school is especially popular in winter thanks to the south orientation of many of its routes and the favorable climate, sheltered from the wind and fog of the Ebro valley.


Olvena School

Olvena School

The Olvena Gorge is a canyon in the Pre-Pyrenees formed by the Ésera River, located between Barbastro and Graus. Along its 8 kilometers, there are numerous walls and towers of excellent quality limestone rock, with some areas of conglomerate, offering more than 20 different sectors and many opportunities for new routes in the future. The N-123 highway crosses the gorge, facilitating access to most sectors, and a local road allows you to reach the town of Olvena, located at the top of the rocks.

The Olvena climbing school is known for combining outstanding sports areas, such as Garrapatillos Alto and Bajo and the Crestas de la Cruz, with long routes on the Pared del Santo Cristo, where the popular Frixis route stands out.
